SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Police Department is investigating a shooting on the South Side Monday afternoon.
The incident took place around 1:15 p.m. on the 100 block of W. Vestal Place near Pleasanton Road.
Police said the man was doing work on his house when a car drove by the house. Two or three individuals got out of the car, called him by name and started beating him up.
The victim pulled a gun and fired shots at the suspects, who then ran back to their vehicle and retrieved a gun. The suspects fired several rounds at the victim, hitting him twice. Then, the victim was rushed to San Antonio Military Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say that evidence at the scene points to one of the suspects may have been shot as well.
The suspects fled the scene in a black Ford Focus.
The Police Department of San Antonio continues the investigation of the incident.
