San Antonio, Texas – According to the police two months after the 2-year-old boy was found dead with ‘’non-accidental trauma’’, a San Antonio woman got arrested. She was looking after the 2-year-old.
The boy was found with ‘’non- accidental’’ trauma across his body and methamphetamine in his system.
According to jail records, the suspect identified was taken in custody Tuesday on suspicion of injury to a child by reckless omission.
First call to 911 about Desmond Jimenez, the baby she was taking care of, was received on July 29, according to her arrest affidavit.
When officers arrived, they found the child laying on the floor in an unresponsive state. Responders spotted a bruise around his eye and on his body.
Desmond was pronounced dead by medics, according to the affidavit.
Tovar said the boy was left in her care on April 1 by his mother. The boy’s mother never returned to take him back. Tovar also said that the injuries the boy suffered were caused by his 4-year-old sister.
The Medical Examiner’s Office found out that the injuries are ‘’non-accidental’’. She also allegedly admitted Desmond was unresponsive for 20 minutes before she made a call.
As jail records showed, Tovar was arrested on a $75,000 bond.
